  1. Become an articulate speaker - People pay attention more when they are impressed with a person's speaking ability. Who can you think of that speaks well. Brian Williams on MSNBC comes to mind for me.
  2. Make the person or people you are speaking to feel important - People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
  3. Let your buyer do most of the talking - You can't learn what you don't know if you're doing all the talking. The rule is the seller should talk less than the buyer, a good ratio is 80/20.
